Good writing is the superpower of the modern world. 


Want to fly? Buy a plane ticket with money made from writing.


Want to kill a T-rex? Say “Ooga Booga” and fire up the whole tribe (not the best speech, but it worked).


Good writing is the best way to get more attention, attract more customers, become the best in your industry, and most importantly… get sales.


It really, truly is the foundation of any business.


Every video script, article, blog post, website, ad and much more is just… writing.


Only problem?


Most writing is boring, rambling, sleep inducing. 


Why?


School has failed us. Remember those long essays you used to write every week?  


Those are the exact examples of “bad writing” that get ZERO sales.


The Simplest Way To Magically Fix “Bad Writing”


We were taught in school that long and complex texts are the way to go with writing. 


Yes, it may be true for scientists, but from a business perspective, it will never work.


Picture a newspaper. Dense lines, small letters, compact text. It makes you instantly say: ”pfffff, I’m not reading that.”


Take a look at the article you are reading. Looks a lot more digestible, doesn't it?


That’s because I make it easy for you to read. You can never lose sight of a line with this format.


Any text must first visually seduce the reader. That’s why newspapers barely exist anymore. 


Stop Confusing Your Leads With The BAR Test


Another thing that teachers love are…


drumroll…


Long and complex sentences.


Fancy words do not improve texts, they just confuse people.


A confused person does the worst thing… nothing.  


You lose any chance of turning them into clients.


Read this:“Effective business strategy takes time and care. You can draft your own business contracts, for example, but without the counsel of a lawyer, you won’t be assured of covering all your bases, which may leave grey areas open for people to take advantage of your business.”


I actually found this in an article. See how confusing it is? 


I had to use all my will power to go through that. You must be an alien to read it without rolling your eyes at least once.


Let’s use the BAR test and transform it:

“There is a reason for experts to exist. You could try and create your own business contracts, but you will surely leave gaps which may be fatal. That’s why lawyers do contracts and marketers ads.”


See how well it flows now. It doesn’t feel like robot speech anymore. 


It sounds normal, like something you would say to a person at a BAR.


After writing any text, ask yourself this:

‘would I say this to an actual human being in conversation?’


The only way to keep someone’s attention is by sounding human.


Best of all? It immediately makes your texts interesting.

Let’s get rid of the clucky, complex, AI sounding texts.
